Margaret is growing two plants in her garden. The

first plant is currently 14 inches tall and is growing 6
inches per week. The second plant is 26 inches tal
and is growing 4 inches per week. How many weeks
will it take for both of the plants to be the same
height? How tall will they be? please explain in word form

First plant =14

rate of growth =6

second plant = 26

rate of growing =4

let x be number of weeks

14+6X = 26+4X

they must be of equal height

2x= 12

x=6 weeks

14+6*6 = 50 inch

26+4*6= 50 inch

6 weeks
