6+(−4)3

What do I do? I don't understand the (−4)3. Why is there a -4 in brackets next to a 3. What Am I Supposed To Do With It? I Don't Need The Answer I Just Need An Explanation.

Answer:

A number in a parentheses that is next to another number means TO MULTIPLY.

Ex.

(-4)3 = -12

2(20) = 40

2(3x) = 6x

Multiplication operator can also be represented as x [i.e., 4 x 5]; an asterisk * [i.e., 4 * 5]; or a parentheses () [i.e., 4(5)].
