Solve for y. 4x + 6y = 12.

y= 2 - 2/3x
First) you have to isolate y on one side. By doing this you have to subtract 4x on each side.
When you do this the formula should look like this formula as follows:

6y= 12 - 4x

Then) you divide 6 on each side of the formula
Which now is
6y/6 = 12-4x/6

Once you divide 6 you get your answer

y= 2 - 2/3x
