Easy! What is -6^2? The calculator says -36, but -6*-6 is 36. Confusing.

You entered;

-6^(2)=(-1)(6)(6)=(-1)(36)=-36

In order to get the answer that you intended;

(-6)^(2)=(-6)(-6)=36
