Let's graph the first equation y = 1x + 3.

First, we make x = 0.


y=0+3=3

This means the first point is (0,3).

Then, we make y = 0.

It means the second point is (-3,0).

Then, we graph these points and draw a straight line through them.

We repeat the process to graph the second equation

We make x = 0.


\begin{gathered} -1x+y=-1 \\ 0+y=-1 \\ y=-1 \end{gathered}

We make y = 0.


\begin{gathered} -1x+y=-1 \\ -x+0=-1 \\ x=1 \end{gathered}
