to find slope intercept, you need 2 things:

Slope

Y intercept

Slope is rise/run (as taught in elementary school) and the y intercept is the place where the line intersects the Y axis

To find the Y axis, replace X with 0

Y = (slope)x + (y intercept)

Y = (5-0)/(0-(-1))x + (y intercept)

Y = 5x + (y intercept)

If you look at the graph, at X = 0, Y= 5

Therefore, Y=5x+5
