Lin ran 2 ¾ miles in ⅖ of an hour. Noah ran 8 ⅔ miles in 4/3 of an hour. How long would it take Lin to run 10 mile at that rate?

We have that Lin ran

2(3)/(4)=(11)/(4)

11/4 miles in 2/5 hours. So we have that the rate is

((11)/(4))/((2)/(5))=(55)/(8)

55/8 miles per hour

if we want to know the time she would need to run 10 miles we have to divide 10 by the rate

(10)/((55)/(8))=(80)/(55)=(16)/(11)=1(5)/(11)hours
