3 1/8 divided by 7 1/2
When dividing fractions, I use "KCF," or "keep, change, flip," which helps make the problem much easier. You will change the mixed numbers to improper fractions. Then, you will keep the first fraction as it is, change the division sign to multiplication sign, and flip the other fraction. So I'll show you how it's done in this problem.
Change mixed numbers to improper fractions:
25/8 divided by 15/2
KCF:
25/8 multiplied by 2/15
Multiply across:
50/120
Simplify by dividing top and bottom by 10:
5/12
This answer stays as 5/12 because it is a proper fraction and cannot be written as a mixed number.
Hope this helped!
