In Antigone, Part 2, Section A, Creon becomes enraged when he learns that Polyneices, his nephew and Antigone's brother, has been buried in violation of his decree. He orders the Sentry to find the culprit, and the Sentry brings Antigone before him. Antigone admits to burying Polyneices and defends her actions by appealing to divine law. Creon, however, remains unmoved and sentences Antigone to death.
