Second, you will multiply the base times the height, the base is the bottom or top of the square, and the height is either of the left or right sides. So, since all sides are the same length, the base and height are both 6.

Third, since now we know what we must do we solve, and 6 x 6 = 36

So therefore, the area of the square is 36 feet.
