The question gives us the molarity of a ethanol solution. Molarity is moles of the solute per liters of the solution.

So, in this case we have 0.220 moles of ethanol --- 1 liter of solution.

So if we need to know the volume of 0.47 moles of ethanol, we can do a rule of 3:

0.220 moles of ethanol --- 1 liter of solution

0.47 moles of ethanol ---- x liter of solution

0.220*x = 0.47*1

x = 0.47/0.220

x = 2.1 liters of solution

Answer: 2.1 liters of solution
