If an organism has an ‘n’ of 32, how many chromosomes are in its somatic cells? How many chromosomes are in its gametes?

n represents the haploid number of an organism. We know that gametes are haploid, therefore there will 32 chromosomes in each gamete. A somatic cell on the other hand is what we know as a body cell, which is a product of mitosis. Mitosis produces diploid cells which is represented by
2n. In order to find this value, simply multiply the
n value by 2 and you should get 64 chromosomes in each somatic cell.
