Sam bought 4 CDs that were each the same price. Including sales tax, he paid a total of $49.60. Each CD had a tax of $0.90. What was the price of each CD before tax?

$11.50

first subtract $49.60 (total money spent) - $3.6 (total tax) = $46

then divide, $46 ÷ $4 = $11.5

so the price of each before tax was $11.5

Alright so 4 divided by 49.60 = 12.40 (Price per cd with taxes included)

We then do 4 x 0.90 = 3.60

Then we can do 49.60 - 3.60 = 46.00

46.00 Divided by 4 = 11.50

11.50 is your answers
