After reading Chapter 7. describe how genetics and environment affect intelligence.
Do you believe your level of intelligence was improved because of the stimuli in your childhood environment? Why or why not?

Even if a kid has high IQ genes, if he or she grows up in a depressed setting with poor nutrition or little access to cerebral stimulation, the child may not perform well on IQ tests. The features and architecture of the brain define the intellect of everyone, including you and me. These are the outcomes of our inherited genes. Environment encounters can lower intellect (disease, toxins, and head trauma). In early children, there is a common environmental variance, but it disappears about age 12. The remaining trends include a growing IQ heredity and a decreasing variance related to the nonshared environment.

Thanks.
