There are 5 questions on a math exam. Each question is worth twice as much as the question before it. The fifth question is worth 16 points. How much is the first question worth?

5th question = 16

4th question = 16 ÷ 2 = 8

3rd question = 8 ÷ 2 = 4

2nd question = 4 ÷ 2 = 2

1st question = 2 ÷ 2 = 1

the first question is worth 1 point
