EVERY classical, flamenco, and acoustic guitar player don’t use whammy bars. Almost no jazz players use them.

Most players of Gibson guitars don’t use these. Telecaster players (ie most country players) don’t use these. Heck even lots of metal players don’t like them.

The list of world class players who don’t use this is ginormous

Is there any benefit to ditching this? Yes. Better tuning stability. Perhaps ease of changing strings.
