Explanation:

First step is to distribute.

Change ⁴√x⁵y² to ⁴√x · x · x · x · x · y · y

If there are any, (which there are) sets of the same variable greater then or equal to 4, combine them and move them to the left of the radical (the square root sign). When you are done it should look like this:

x√x · y · y

You will notice there is still an x on the right side. This is because there were 5 x's and you can only move them (in this case) in sets of 4. 5 - 4 = 1

Combine your like terms and you're done!

x√xy²
