Explanation: The silk road is a example of this concept. European traders wanted eastern spices. it allows different regions to trade for things that the other cant make or doesn't have enough of. Sub Saharan Gold and Ivory for European salt. Europeans had plenty of Salt but not Gold and Ivory and vice-versa.
