This function is a lovely swoopey cubic curve. If we finish factoring it, it's not to hard to see the x-intercepts. You set it equal to zero and solve it. The solutions are the x-intercepts (are the "zeros")

0=(x-5)(x^2-7x+12)

0=x-5, 0=x-3 & 0=x-4

x=5, x=3, x=4
