The history of ceramics dates back to ancient civilizations, with some of the earliest known examples dating back to around 24,000 BCE in China. The first ceramics were made by ancient cultures such as the Chinese, Japanese, and Egyptians, who developed earthenware ceramics around 6000 BCE. The development of stoneware ceramics in China, around 1000 BCE, marked a new era in ceramic production. The invention of porcelain ceramics in China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) was another significant step forward.
