Answer: x = 32 & y = 51

Explanation:

Since

ΔMNP ≅ ΔTUS

Therefore

NP ≅ US

2x - y = 13

y = 2x - 13 __eq_1

Since

ΔMNP ≅ ΔTUS

therefore

∠N ≅ ∠U

so, if we find ∠N we'll be able to find ∠U as well

since the sum of angles of a triangle is 180, therefore

∠N = 180 - (∠M + ∠P )

∠N = 180 - (142 + 24)

∠N = 14°

we know ∠N ≅ ∠U

therefore

14 = 2x - 50

2x = 64

x = 64÷2

x = 32 __eq_2

putting eq_2 in eq_1

y =

2x - 13

y = 2 (32) - 13

y = 51 __eq_3

x = 32 & y = 51 ...Answer

hope that helps...
