Explanation:

• If 2 chords are congruent, then they are equidistant from its centre , so

CE = FC , that is

10x - 12 = 8x + 10 ( subtract 8x from both sides )

2x - 12 = 10 ( add 12 to both sides )

2x = 22 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 11

Then

CE = 10x - 12 = 10(11) - 12 = 110 - 12 = 98
