Visible light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye. The visible light spectrum is the range of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye, and it corresponds to the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The visible light spectrum has wavelengths that range from about 400 nanometers (nm) to about 700 nm. Wavelengths shorter than 400 nm are called ultraviolet light, and wavelengths longer than 700 nm are called infrared.
