1) Considering that softball a sphere, we can find its volume by using the following formula:

\begin{gathered} V=(4)/(3)\cdot\pi\cdot r^3 \\ \end{gathered}

2) But as the circumference has been given we can find the radius through that:

\begin{gathered} C=2\cdot\pi\cdot r \\ 12=2\cdot\pi\cdot r \\ (12)/(2\pi)=(2\pi)/(2\pi)\cdot r \\ r=(6)/(\pi) \end{gathered}

Now, we can plug into that the radius:

\begin{gathered} V=(4)/(3)\cdot\pi\cdot((6)/(\pi)) \\ V=(4)/(3)\cdot6 \\ V=(24)/(3) \\ V=8in^3 \end{gathered}

3) Therefore the volume of that ball is 8 in³
