To solve this equation, the first thing we need to do is to let the "x term" alone.

For this, we could start by multiplying both sides of the equation by 4:


(2+x)/(6)+1=(12)/(8)

Now, we could substract 1 to both sides:


\begin{gathered} (2+x)/(6)=(12)/(8)-1 \\ \\ (2+x)/(6)=(4)/(8) \end{gathered}

And then multiply by 6:


2+x=(24)/(8)

Now, substract 2:


\begin{gathered} x=(24)/(8)-2 \\ \\ x=3-2 \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the value in the box should be 1.
