President Kennedy makes frequent use of parallelism and antithesis in his Inaugural Address. How do parallelism and antithesis help him make his points?

President Kennedy uses parallelism and anti-theses when he mentions an end as well as a beginning and renewal as well as change. Other instances when Kennedy used parallelism as well and anti-theses in the second part of the speech such as support any friend or foe or united there is little we cannot do, divided there is little we can do. The purpose of this was to give strength to his speech and to motivate listeners to what he is saying.
