-5x+3y=19
-5x+7y=11

Here, we use substitution to solve for both variables.

Solve for y first

-5x + 3y = 19
+5x +5x

3y = 19 + 5x
y = 19/5 + 5/3x

Now plug that into the other equation. -5x+7(19/5 + 5/3x) =11

-5x + 26.6 + 35/3x = 11
-5x + 35/3x = 20/3x

20/3x + 26.6 = 11
-26.6 -26.6

11 - 26.6 = -15.6

20/3x = -15.6

x = -119.6

Ahhh, now time to solve for y

-5x+3y=19
-5(-119.6) + 3y = 19
598 + 3y = 19
-598 -598

19 - 598 = -579

3y = -579
y = - 193

WE ARE DONE!!!

Answer: y = -193 and x = -119.6
