2x = 4y + 6
7 + x = -3y

Solve for 'x' in the first equation.

2x = 4y + 6
x = 2y + 3

Substitute the first equation into the second equation.

x = 2y + 3
7 + x = -3y

7 + 2y + 3 = -3y
2y + 10 = -3y
5y + 10 = 0
5y = -10
y = -2

Plug y = -2, and solve for x

7 + x = -3(-2)
7 + x = 6
x = -1

The solution to the system of linear equations is (-1,-2).
