Given the inequality,

-2x+9<-27

To solve the inequality, we first add -9 on both sides.

\begin{gathered} -2x+9+(-9)<-27+(-9) \\ -2x<-36 \end{gathered}

Now divide this by - 2.

\begin{gathered} (-2x)/(-2)<(-36)/(-2) \\ x<18 \end{gathered}

Here the mistake made is adding 9 both sides.

Therefore, the answer is x < 18.
