No, these are not equal because:-
2(x - 2) = 2*x - 2*2 = 2x - 4
2x - 2 is not equal to 2x - 4
Answer: Not equal

using the distributiver property which is
a(b+c)=ab+ac therefor
2(x-2)=2(x)+(2)(-2)
multiply
2x+-4
2x-4
2x-4=2x-2?
false
the answer is no
