We have ruled that the cause of Mr. (Philip Seymour) Hoffman's death was an accidental mixed drug intoxication. Among the drugs we found in his system were amphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and heroin. These results match police evidence that describe Mr. Hoffman having a syringe in his arm, as well as the bags of heroin found in his apartment. Heroin and benzodiazepines are known to repress respiration, and the stimulants (amphetamine) might have prevented him from feeling those effects, and lead him to believe they had no effect. Mr. Hoffman's death was a tragic accident, and we offer our deepest condolences.
