Stefan has $65.75 he wants to buy some DVD's that each cost $14.99. write and solve an inequality to estimate the greatest number of DVDs that he can buy

cost of DVDs = 14.99
no. of DVDs = x
should not exceed = 65.75

14.99x < 65.75

14.99x < 65.75
÷14.99 ÷14.99
x < 4.38 *Stefan should buy 4.38 DVDs or less.

Assuming Stefan bought 4 DVDs
14.99x < 65.75
14.99(4) < 65.75
59.96 < 65.75 * inequality is correct

Assuming Stefan bought 5 DVDs
14.99x < 65.75
14.99(5) < 65.75
74.95 < 65.75
*if Stefan buys 5 DVDs then, the inequality will become false.
