The Hohokam people are best known for canals for carrying water to their desert farms.

The Hohokam people are the prehistoric American Indians, who live around AD 200 to 14000 in the semi arid region of the present day central Arizona. The major occupation of the Hohokam people was agriculture being corn their most cultivated crop. As a result of the nature of their land, they built canals for deliverying water to their farms in order to prevent the lose of their crops.
