We need to set up a proportion.

132/16 = x/1

Cross multiply

132*1 = 132
16*x = 16x

16x = 132 Isolate the variable to solve for x.

16x/16 = 132/16
x= 132/16
x= 8.25

$8.25 is what she/he earns in one hour.

To find the unit rate we will divide the amount of money earned by the amount of hours worked. Then we will check it. Lets do it:-

132 ÷ 16 = 8.25
1 hour = $8.25.

CHECK OUR WORK:-

8.25 × 16 = 132
We were RIGHT!!!

So, your answer would be $8.25.

Hope I helped ya!!
