Answer: In the last hundred years, modern science has dramatically altered our day-to-day lives. Communications, medicine, travel, medicine, agriculture, entertainment, and mass production were all revolutionized during the 20th century. Scientific breakthroughs were the reason why the scientific revolution was so successful (and science is so successful today) - what happened was that with new and new scientific breakthroughs the proponents of this line of thought received new evidence that their way of looking at the world really does produce new advancements and is very beneficial.
