Distance formula:


d=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

where (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are the points of interest

Substituting with points (-2, 1) and (3, 5), we get:


\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(3-(-2))^2+(5-1)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{5^2+4^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{25+16} \\ d=\sqrt[]{41} \\ d\approx6.40 \end{gathered}
