Therefore, the first one represents


\begin{gathered} 9*12\text{ squares} \\ 108\text{ squares (108 units).} \\ \text{Therefore, the numbers in the geometric sequence are;} \\ 108,36,12,4 \\ \text{The common ratio is derived as the current term divided by the previous term} \\ \text{Therefore;} \\ r=(36)/(108)=(12)/(36)=(4)/(12) \\ r=(1)/(3) \end{gathered}

The common ratio (which is r) equals 1/3
