The power in terms of the work done is,

P=(D(W))/(Dt)

Where dW is the small work done and dt is the time taken,

The work done in terms of force is,

DW=F\cdot Dx

where Dx is the small dispalcement of the object,

The power becomes,

\begin{gathered} P=F\mathrm{}(Dx)/(Dt) \\ P=F\cdot v \end{gathered}

Thus, the power is the force times velocity.

Hence, the given statement is true.
