y=0.5x-1 we can find the slope by using rise over run or y2-y1/x2-x1and the y intercept is the point where y at when x is zero

Every straight line graph has an equation in the same form:

y = (slope of the line) x + (y-intercept) .

-- The slope of the line is

(how far it goes UP, going left to right between any 2 points)
divided by
(how far it goes left to right between the same 2 points) .

The line on this graph has a slope of + 1/2 .

-- The y-intercept is the point where the line crosses the y-axis.
The line on this graph crosses the y-axis at -1 .

y = (slope of the line) x + (y-intercept) .

y = ( 0.5 ) x ( - 1 ) .
