18.50 times 20% equals 3.7 as 20%, so 18.50-3.7=14.8

so
20% of 18.50 = ____
to get this you multiply
20% is .20 in decimal form
18.50 x .20 = $3.70
so 20% is $3.70, which means the discount is $3.70
so then you subtract $3.70 from the original price of 18.50 and you get
$14.80 which is your answer (:
