Solve the following system, using substitution

\begin{bmatrix}B=5c+9 \\ B=-4c-9\end{bmatrix}

Substitute B = -4c-9

-4c-9=5c+9

clear C

\begin{gathered} -4c-9+9=5c+9+9 \\ -4c=5c+18 \\ -4c-5c=5c+18-5c \\ -9c=18 \\ (-9c)/(-9)=(18)/(-9) \\ c=-2 \end{gathered}

We have found that C = -2

Now, let's find B

Substitute C = -2;

B=-4\mleft(-2\mright)-9
B=-1

Thus, the solution for this system is:

B = -1, C = -2
