Answer:

The number of parts on the four plots are 40.5

Explanation:

The number of plots is 4 and each has an area of 12 acres, thus the total area is 36 acres.

Dividing them into a number, n, of parts gives;

(36)/(n)

where n is the number of parts.

(36)/(n) =
(8)/(9) of an acre

Thus,

n = (36 × 9) acres ÷ 8 acres

= 324 ÷ 8

= 40.5

Thus it has been divided into 40.5 parts.
