Subtract the $5.25 spent on the fuel and lunch from the $11.50 he charged.

$11.50
-5.25 ($1.80 +$3.45) = $5.25 spent
=$6.25

b. $6.25 because you have to add the money he spent and subtract it from the money he charges for the lawn. :3
