4(3x−1)=3+8x−11

Simplify

4(3x−1)=3+8x−11

(4)(3x)+(4)(−1)=3+8x+−11(Distribute)

12x+−4=3+8x+−11

12x−4=(8x)+(3+−11)(Combine Like Terms)

12x−4=8x+−8

12x−4=8x−8

Subtract 8x from both sides.

12x−4−8x=8x−8−8x

4x−4=−8

Add 4 to both sides.

4x−4+4=−8+4

4x=−4

Divide both sides by 4.

4x/4=−4/4

x=−1
