In a list of numbers, the pattern increases by 0.001 as you move to the right. If the third number in the list is 0.064, what is the first number in the list? Explain how you know.

Find the first number in the lists prior moving to the right, in where every moves add 0.001 and the number in the list is now 0.064
0.064 = x_1 + (3-1) 0.001
=> 0.064 = x_1 + (3-1)0.001
=> Subtract first the number inside the parenthesis, and then multiply
=> 0.064 = x _1 + (2)0.001
=> 0.064 = x_1 + 0.002
=> 0.064 – 0.002 = x_1
=> 0.062
Thus, the first number in the list is 0.062 before it started to move to the right
