First we solve what we can.2(4z − 5 − 3) = 166 − 462(4z-8)=120
8z-16=120
Then we have to leave z alone.
8z=120+16
z= 136/8
Lastly, we solve.
z= 17

Answer:

The value of z is 17.

Explanation:

The given equation is

2(4z-5-3)=166-46

2(4z-8)=120

Use distributive property of multiplication, to solve the above equation.

2(4z)+2(-8)=120

8z-16=120

Add 16 on both the sides.

8z=120+16

8z=136

Divide both sides by 8.

z=17

Therefore the value of z is 17.
