A cone has a volume of 150 cm cubed what is the volume of a cylinder that just holds the cone?

To find the volume of the cylinder we must first find the height and radius of the cone.

Volume of a cone = (1/3)*(pir^2h)
Volume of a cylinder = pir^2h
If you look carefully you will notice that the only difference between the two is that the volume of the cone is multiplied by (1/3) thus if multiple the cone's volume of 150 by 3 we get the volume of the cylinder containing it.

Which would be 450 cm^3
