To solve this, we will follow the steps below:

EG = EF + FG -------------------------------------(1)

From the question,

EG = 5x + 7 EF = 5x FG = 2x – 7

Substituting the above into equation(1)

5x+7 = 5x + 2x-7

5x+7 = 7x - 7

Collect like-term

7+7 = 7x-5x

14 = 2x

Divide both-side of the equation by 2

14/2 = 2x/2

7 = x

x=7

Substituting the value of x in poin FG

Point FG = 2x – 7 = 2(7) - 7 = 14 - 7 =7

Therefore, the numerical length of FG is 7
