You have to put a equation:

1836 = 612 + 25,50x
1836-612=25,50x
1224 = 25,50x
x= (1224)/(25,50)
x=48
The school purchased 48 uniforms.

$1,836 minus the $612 equipment = $1,224 divide $1,224 by $25.50 for each uniform and get 24 uniforms as an answer
