5x+5=3x+12
Subtract 5 from both sides
5x=3x+12−5
Simplify 3x+12−5 to 3x+7
5x=3x+7
Subtract 3x from both sides
5x−3x=7
Simplify 5x−3x to 2x
2x=7
Divide both sides by 2
x=7/2
